What Community Fills You Up?

It is fascinating when we see a familiar concept in a new way. The other day I was reading an article exploring the idea of being spiritual without being religious and one of the main concepts they touched on was that of community.

And it got my wheels turning. I started to think about what community really is and the advantages and disadvantages of being a part of one. I reflected on the various “communities” that I’ve belonged to throughout my life and while I can appreciate the frustrations and the issues that came up, I also see the positive benefits that I received.

Being part of a community can give us so many things. From support to structure to sounding boards for ideas, being part of something bigger than ourselves has value. Under the best circumstances it’s a place where we can be ourselves. It is a place where we can learn, grow, test ideas and get feedback. And it’s a place where we give of ourselves and help others. Best of all when you are part of a community you receive all the great benefits that come from sharing your time, talents and treasures.

Action:
Whatever is happening in your life, whatever you may be pursuing, find a community for yourself. Find a place that gives you support and solace, and one that challenges you to become a better person. There are communities everywhere that will support you as you grow and move towards your ideal life. We challenge you to find one that fits your needs and know that you will receive so many benefits.
