Some people can answer these questions with a definite and resounding YES! and in others the voice that comes through sounds more like "I think I do". The reality is that the truth usually lies somewhere in between.
So often when we don't have a clear understanding of what it is that we want, we end up tripping over ourselves and getting frustrated. It may not be something monumental like your career, it could be as simple as not knowing what you want for dinner ( I mean who hasn't been hungry and spent way to long wandering the grocery store trying to figure out what to cook for dinner).
No matter what the situation, the frustration of not knowing often stops us from taking action.
And you know what happens then...NOTHING!
We stall, stop, go in circles and get in a twhirl. We search for the reason we are stuck and often it is as simple as a shift in your desires. Something inside changed and you want and need something different in your life.
Napoleaon Hill said it best.... "There is one quality which one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it." When you don't know your purpose, or don't know what you want, you can't possibly take action.
Action:
Ask yourself if you have lost touch with knowing what it is that you want. Determine if what you are working toward is in alignment with your true desires. And if not stop everything you are doing and take a little time and get to a place where desire starts to burn again.

How can one take action, when you truly are not certain what you want
ReplyDeleteBy doing something you will shift your energy and you will have new experiences. You'll be able to draw from those new experiences and see things in a different way. While you do this you will be getting closer to finding your purpose. We don't always know what we want, it is through exploration, trial & error, that we discover it. And this requires action.
